A FAMILY fun day raised over £1,000 for Holy Trinity Church in Kimberley.
Rev Barbara Holbrook and church pals Anne Carr and Jean Kenny organised the community event.
There were various stalls and craft displays, games and competitions for the children and a flower festival which had the theme ‘a celebration of 400 years of the King James Bible’.
Schools and community groups such as the Womens’ Institute and the Kimberley Pensioners group made the floral displays.
Rev Holbrook said Ms Carr and Ms Kenny were ‘charity champions’.
“They sowed the seeds for a wonderful community initiative,” she said.
“It went very well. We had good weather, lots of people came and it was a great atmosphere.”
The proceeds will go towards the upkeep of the church.
