Talented dancers representing the Awsworth based Team Revolution have reaped huge rewards by bringing home more than 40 trophies following their successes at competitions in Wales and Stratford-Upon-Avon.

The Team Revolution contingent accompanied by their principal Nichola Buckley out-shone older opponents at the Quay West Championships which took place in the town of New Quay before going on to achieve further successes in Stratford.

Competing in categories that included freestyle and slow dance, dancers covered themselves in glory with seniors including Olivia Hewes, Leia Bradley and Georgia Smith setting the standards of excellence.

The dance school’s newest additions Vienna McClean and Archie Dobbin made impressive contributions in beginners categories.

For Archie, one of the group’s newest recruits, it was only the fifth competition he had taken part in.

He was considered to be the rank outsider in the face of opposition from older and more experienced dancers, but dazzled the judging panel with his athleticism and impressive routines and won the title for the Beginners’ Freestyle Solo.

Archie, aged nine, said “ I have learnt so much since joining Team Revolution a few months ago. I am thrilled to be a winner against the odds especially as the dancers I was competing against were all older than me”.

Sponsored by the fashion chain NEXT the Team revolution stars outshone opposition representing more than 20 dance schools from around the country.

Successes at the World Championship preliminary competitions and their recent successes has made Team Revolution a name to be reckoned with in dancing circles.

“I am so proud of my dancers the progress they are making is immense,” said Ms Buckley.

Other dancers sharing in Team Revolution’s recent successes were Shannon Wright, Phoebe Dobbin, Brooke Dennis, Lukas McFarlane, Olivia Anthony, Danielle Edwards, Tayenna Barnet, Emma Felstead and Jasmine Dobbin.
