Talk on creative writing at WI fair

A TALENTED writer gave a talk at Watnall Womens Institute’s spring book fair.

WI president Helen Rose said Niki Valentine brought an ‘interesting insight’ into creative writing.

Ms Rose said: “She enthralled the audience with stories of how she weaves people she meets into her novels.

“And she said the discipline of writing around 1,000 words at a time keeps her focused on her task.”

The book fair raised £150 which the ladies will put towards their next project, which is to install an induction loop in the hall for hearing aid users.

The next meeting is at Greasley Church Hall on June at 9 where comic raconteur Mervyn Stutter will be the special guest.
