A SPECIAL needs teacher in Eastwood is to receive an award.
Karen Robinson from Priory Primary School will be presented with a certificate along with 18 others for completing The National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination. The teachers will be awarded at a ceremony next Wednesday, June 29.
They were the first in the county to complete this one year course, with a further 55 teachers due to complete training in the coming months.
The new masters level qualification became mandatory for all teachers new to the role of Special Educations Needs Coordinator (SENCO) from September 1.
