Nuthall and District History Society has received a double technology boost ahead of its annual general meeting and film show entitled Nuthall Memories. The society’s chairman Spencer Spooner, a retired journalist, welcomed more than 40 members and guests to St Patrick’s Church Hall where the new state of the art equipment was used by the group for the first time. Nottinghamshire County Councillor Philip Owen handed over a cheque for £255 from his Divisional Fund towards the cost of a video powerpoint projector, which was used for the film presentation. A laptop generously donated to the society as a gift from an unnamed supporter was also used at the annual general meeting, at which all of the group’s officials were re-elected. Nuthall and District History Society, which was first formed in 1969, meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm in the church hall in Back lane. New members are invited to join the society.
