The BBC Children in Need rickshaw will be making its way through Kimberley and Nuthall on Monday as part of a 450 mile journey from Salford to ‘Walford’.
Now in its fourth year and having raised over £5 million for the charity, the rickshaw challenge team will begin their eight-day expedition on Friday November 7 from the BBC’s Media City near Manchester.
On Monday November 10 ‘Team Rickshaw’ will cycle along Nottingham Road in Kimberley at about 6pm and Kimberley Road in Nuthall soon after.
They will tackle harsh November weather and some challenging UK landmarks including Flash in the Peak District - the UK’s highest village - before finishing at the iconic EastEnders set during the Children in Need appeal on Friday.
‘Team Rickshaw’ is made up of five young people aged 16 to 20 who have each been supported by projects funded by BBC Children in Need.
The One Show presenters Matt Baker and Alex Jones will also be joining them to offer support and advice along the way.
The team includes Matthew from Swadlincote (16), Flo from Powys, Wales (17), Jess from Kettering (16), Carolina from Tottenham (18) and Alex from Misbourne Valley (20).
