Tickets are still available for the Mayor’s annual charity ball.
Eastwood Mayor Cllr Brian Griffin is raising money for the Samantha Dixon Brain Tumour Trust and the Cleft Lip and Palette Association.
The event on February 26 will be held at the town’s Hayley Conference Centre in Mansfield Road and entertainment will include the popular forties dancers The Lindy Hoppers, Eastwood Collieries Male Voice Choir and The Walters Family.
Cllr Griffin said the two charities are close to his heart because his wife died from a brain tumour and his daughter’s friend has a cleft lip and palette.
“We want to raise as much money as we can and I want to see as many people there as possible,” he said.
The Samatha Dixon Trust will put the money towards a new research scanner centre in Nottingham. Currently there is only one in the south of the country.
To buy a ticket, priced £7.50, ring Cllr Griffin on 01773 789 0475 or 07872 014 405 or ring his son, Neil Griffin, on 07772 629 853.
The ticket includes a free raffle and auction. Bar snacks will be available.
