a WOMAN was killed in a car crash in Selston last weekend.
The car came off the road and hit a tree at Langton Hollows on Saturday night instantly killing 42-year-old Vicki Dorman.
A 35-year-old man is in hospital with head and arm injuries and is said to be in a ‘serious but stable’ condition.
Police received reports of the Subaru Impreza coming off the road at about 9pm last Saturday night.
Ms Dorman, of Winter Closes, Underwood, lived with her daughter and was said to be a ‘lovely’ woman who kept horses in a field behind her property.
Underwood resident and councillor, Penny Fell said: “I didn’t really know her very well, but she seemed like a lovely woman.”
Ms Dorman was pronounced dead at the scene and the man, also from Underwood, was taken to the Kings Mill Hospital in Sutton-in-Ashfield before being moved to the Queen’s Medical centre in Nottingham.
The police forensic collision investigation unit is carrying out work to determine exactly how the crash happened and officers want to trace a car traveling near to the pair at the time, going towards Jacksdale.
Det Sgt James Greely said: “We are trying to trace the occupants of the second car, which was seen in the area at around the same time travelling from Selston towards Jacksdale.
“The occupants of this vehicle may have crucial information about the circumstances surrounding this crash. We would like to speak to them about the incident and would ask them to contact detectives.”
The officer in charge of the case, Dc Helen Neaverson, visited Ms Dorman’s relatives with a family liaison officer on Tuesday of this week.
