A writing competition is being held at the DH Lawrence Centre in Eastwood to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the famous novel, Sons and Lovers.

People are being asked to write a poem or short story of no more than 500 words to be in with a chance of winning a Kindle Fire.

The competition will mark the centenary anniversary of one of Lawrence’s most famous works, published in May 1913.

The Lawrence Centre will also be offering a ten per cent discount to its members in the gift shops throughout the month, and there will be a public lecture on Lawrence held at Nottingham University on May 29.
