Youngster wins national gardening title

A pupil at Kimberley’s Gilthill Primary School won the ’Young School Gardener of the Year’ competition.

Ben Rockley from year two won the competition’s age five to seven category and had an all expenses paid trip to the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show, where he met The Duchess of Cornwall.

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Young School Gardener of the Year is a nationwide competition and the highest recognition that the RHS awards to school pupils.

Hampton Court is the world’s largest annual flower show.
