‘Tis the season to dig out the videocameras and swell with pride as you watch your children deliver their lines in their school nativity play with a teatowel on their head.
This week’s little angels and adorable sherpherds come from Hollywell Primary School in Kimberley and Larkfields Infant School in Nuthall who held their annual nativity plays this week.
Hollywell Primary School had an unusual take on the traditional Christmas story this year with their play ‘A midwife crisis’.
Based on hit TV show ‘Call the Midwife’, more than 80 pupils set the birth of Jesus in a more modern setting with plenty of midwife costumes.
The charming performance saw Romilly Young as chief midwife, Grace Adams and Ellis Amatt as Mary and Joseph and Toby Davies as Steve the very stubborn donkey.
Meanwhile, over at Larkfields Infant School, an even bigger performance was underway with 150 pupils in a vast range of colourful costumes performed their play ‘The naughty angels’.
The show included Tia Buttress and Lewis Sherlock in the roles of Mary and Joseph and was a roaring success with all the parents.
