Youth club official opening

TEENAGERS will show off the hard work they have put in to Eastwood’s new youth centre when it is officially opened by the Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire today, Friday September 9.

About a dozen teenagers played a vital role in planning the new centre, from advising on its design and giving the architects feedback to deciding on what equipment to buy and choosing colour schemes to make sure it appeals to young people.

The centre in Derby Road cost £2m – half funded by Nottinghamshire County Council and half by the Co-location Funding Programme.

It will offer a large social space, coffee bar, meeting room, dance studio, music recording studio, computer workspaces and offices and will open to the public on Monday.
