Kimberley fourth XI provided a bright spot in a bad weekend for the club in general when they overran ran lowly Lambley Village by nine wickets.

Batting first the home side had progressed to 64-3 with Tom Boyden (1-20) and Sam Beale (2-24) picking up the wickets for Kimberley before leg-spinner Ben Millington (3-2-4-6) came into the attack proceeded to record figures that Shane Warne would have been proud of!

Millington’s devastating spell reduced Lambley to 75-9 with five of his six victims bamboozled and clean bowled before Luke Barlow rounded things off in the 21st over and the home side were all out for just 77.

In reply Kimberley needed just short of 14 overs to knock off the required runs with Ed Wright (39*) leading the way after adding exactly 50 for the first wicket with Paul Newton (29) with both batsman going at better than a run-a-ball and hitting twelve boundaries between them with one maximum for Newton.

Tom Whittingham (6*) then helped Wright seal the win which moves the 4th’s into 3rd in Division N.
