Attenborough CC Sunday 1st XI 160-4 beat KICC Sunday XI 157-9 by 4 wickets.
Another defeat came on Sunday as the Sunday XI narrowly lost to Attenborough in a closely fought and entertaining contest.

The visitors put Kimberley in and had to wait for their first wicket as Paldip Sidhu (54) and Pete Wright (20) added 55 opening up before Wright fell to Peter Bateman (1-25).

From there Kimberley lost wickets at regular intervals and the innings wasn’t helped by several rain breaks.

Dominic Wheatley made 38, but no-one else could get in and support him and Kimberley finished up on 157-9 from their 40 overs; Arjun Singh (4-23) doing most of the damage for Attenborough.

Martin Shoemaker (33) got the visitors run-chase off to a brisk start but when he and fellow opener Matt Shaw both fell to Joe Platts (1-28) and Charlie Walters (2-18) respectively the scoreboard read 45-2 and Walters made a further breakthrough with the score on 80 when he bowled Albert Gardiner.

First teamer Craig Heiden (50) showed his class though with a well-constructed innings and with Jonathan Bateman (20) added exactly 50 runs and seemed to be leading the side to victory; that was until he was outstandingly caught by Alex Beale at extra-cover off the bowling of James Mann (1-32).

Captain Prab Sidhu (1-32) then got in on the act with a run-out and a wicket of his own as suddenly the score was 136-6 and Kimberley were back in the game, but it proved in vain though as the 7th wicket pair of Andy Simkiss (13*) and Ben Bhabra (13*) saw the visitors home with eight balls to spare.
