Langley Mill II are beaten by Breadsall


Langley Mill II team travelled to Breadsall sporting a very young side due to several absences.

Breadsall won the toss and asked the millers to take the first knock.

Neil Wing and James Harrison opened up, but this partnership did not last long as James Harrison was out LBW to B Garner for 0.

Kiegen Wing (6) soon followed and this set the tone for the Millers innings as they lost wickets at regular intervals.

At the halfway point the millers had reached 84 for 5 with Neil Wing (20) and Alex Bacon (34) the only ones troubling the scorers out of the top six.

Daniel Lacey (44) and Rohit Patel (29*) then pushed the Millers up to a respectable 172 for 9 off their 46 overs.

For Breadsall the wickets were shared out, D Maginnes 3-33 and then there where 2 wickets a piece for L Holmes, B Garner and Nick Hinckley.

In reply theMillers struck early to remove both openers, firstly Will Oates for a duck, caught by Neil Wing off Alex Bacons bowling and then S Buck for 2, caught by Kiegen Wing off Ron Patels bowling.

This was as good as it got for the Millers as J Shapland (67) and A Robertson (59*) took the game away from the millers with a partnership of 114 to leave Breadsall on 140 with only 35 needed.

J Smith (21*) joined A Robertson and these pair finished off the game.

For the Millers there was a wicket a piece for Ron Patel, Alex Bacon and a first Derbyshire League wicket for Lewis Clarence.
