Preview: Key weekend in Nottinghamshire Premier League
The Notts Premier League reaches the one-third point of the season with the traditional Bank Holiday weekend double header.
On Saturday, league leaders Plumtree host the defending champions, Kimberley Institute.
Plumtree are the only undefeated side remaining this season, whilst Kimberley will be keen that the 26-point gap between the sides doesn’t grow.
West Indian Cavaliers lie second in the table with a 100 per cent home record. They welcome fourth placed Cuckney to Birchover Park.
The Bears have lost both matches on their travels so far this season, they won’t want to make it three.
Completing a set of fixtures that sees one of the top six sides play another of the top six sides, Ordsall Bridon in 5th will be at home to Caythorpe. Bridon are winners of both home games so far, and are looking to make up for lost time after being washed out last week, Caythorpe meanwhile have lost their last three matches.
Notts Academy, having lifted themselves up to seventh in recent weeks, prepare for the visit of Mansfield Hosiery Mills to Lady Bay.
The Millers were victim of the weather last week and slid in to the bottom two as a result.
They will be looking to build on the win they achieved in their last outing.
With just nine points separating 7th from 12th, the match at Clifton Campus where Radcliffe-on-Trent will take on Clifton Village takes on extra significance.
Despite being the side in 12th, Radcliffe are the only one of these two sides with a win so far this season.
Lastly on Saturday, Welbeck will hope to bounce back from being dismissed for 74 last weekend, when the entertain Hucknall.
The sides sit tied on 46 points at the moment, smack in the middle of the bottom six.
Monday’s fixtures see Plumtree visit Ordsall Bridon with an eye on consolidating their position as top dogs.
West Indian Cavaliers travel to Hucknall, while Kimberley Institute visit Radcliffe-on-Trent. Cuckney will host Clifton Village, Notts Academy go to Caythorpe and there’s another key matchup at the lower end of the table when Mansfield Hosiery Mills entertain Welbeck.
