Three wins out of three ends the season well

Kimberley Institute’s 2nd XI secured their place in Division B with an impressive seven-wicket win over Hyson Green.

Ian Wright starred with the ball as he took 6 for 47 from his 16 overs to help bowl the visitors out for 156, Ammer Khan top scoring with 42 in a promising first wicket stand of 49.

But Ian Wright and brother Matt then took over, the latter taking 2 for 42 and Steve Bennett 2 for 23.

Carl Blake (41) and Prab Sidhu (56) put on a welcome century stand in reply and took the score to 101 before Blake was stumped. Sidhu himself fell on 136 but Andy Platts’ 25 not out helped Kimberley over the line.

The third XI ended with a 12-run win over Attenborough.

Kimberley finished 123-9, Paul Richardson top scoring on 42, and Attenborough never got going as Alex Beale (4-39), Connor Richardson (2-11) and Charlie Walters (2-25) helped bowl them out for 111.

The fourths also ended with a win as they beat Poplars by six wickets having bowled them out for 127, Rich Kelley with 4 for 26.

Alex Aldred (39*) and Chris Mozley were then the key scorers as Kimberley finished things off in the 35th over.
