Eastwood’s first team continued a winning start to the season at an away clash with Plumtree second XI.
The home side batted first but failed to forge any decent partnerships, with regular wickets falling at the hands of Shaun Stocks (6 for 23) and James Longden, who managed an economical 2 for 25.
The innings ended with Plumtree bowled out for a meagre 123 in the 43rd over.
Eastwood’s reply began with a quick-fire partnership of 76 by Stuart Hill (36) and Adrian Marsh (42), including four sixes.
Plumtree’s total was knocked off with ease by the visitors in the 25th over as Eastwood claimed an easy victory by eight wickets, placing them at the top of the league table with a home encounter against Plumtree this weekend.
The seconds’ match against Calverton CC fell victim to wet weather, but the third team took on Oxton.
Eastwood put on a disappointing performance as, batting first, they were bowled out for 66 on a wicket for bowlers, and Oxton reached the total with the loss of just four wickets.
