Eastwood Town’s under-15 cricket team finished joint top of the table this season thus sharing the spoils with their rivals Marehay.
Both teams won nine out of ten games, losing to each other in their corresponding away fixtures.
All of the team played some part in their nine wins with a few exciting finishe, the stand-out performance being their win at home to Marehay. Batting first the visitors were restricted to only 70 runs but Eastwood knew they would have to bat well against a strong bowling team.
A steady run chase and fall of wickets meant the home side needed just one run off the last over to secure victory.
Marehay picked up a wicket with the first ball with a catch in the deep, but the next ball saw Eastwood snatch victory with a clever quick single before Marehay could react.
Captain Danny Noble ended the season with the most runs scored and spin bowler Connor Bradley, playing his first season, picked up most wickets.
