Saturday night saw Kimberley Swimming Club competing at Hucknall in the second round of the Nottinghamshire Stage 3 Spring League.
Against tough opposition, Kimberley came second of the five clubs competing on the night, with first places going to Mathew Shipley, Mollie Wright (x2), Lauren Gill, Joseph Kingsland, Ben Barsny and the girls 14-and-under freestyle relay team of Jade Duffy, Jade Calder, Gemma Calder and Mollie Wright.
Several personal bests were also recorded.
There was also success for Kimberley’s swimmers as they won the second round of the Leicester Diddy League.
Winners included Chloe Cheetham, Lauren Shipley, Tom Ellis, Abbey Close, Jimi Knowles, Bradley Francis, Mathew Shipley (x2), Joseph Kingsland (x2), Jessica Shephard, Ted Goonan, Katie Walker, Josh Skinner and ten of the club’s relay teams.
Out of the five teams competing, Kimberley finished first on 254 points ahead of Wellingborough in second on 201.
Round three at Braunstone on June 22 sees Kimberley competing against Melton ‘A’, Kettering ‘A’, Leicester Penguins ‘B’, Swadlincote and Loughborough.
