On Thursday the 12th Greasley played their first home match of the season.
Their opponents were Sherwood Bowls Club and Greasley played very well to securee a good victory.
Carol Leam made her league debut for the club and led very well, contributing in a positive manner to a comfortable win on her rink. She should prove to be a great asset to the club.
The green was in excellent condition and bowled very well. Many favourable comments were made about the green, from both teams. Much credit is due to the green keeper.
On Saturday the 14th the visitors to Coronation Park were Porchester Bowls Club.
It was a very cold windy afternoon and a sure sign of the adverse weather conditions was that only four hardy members of the “Yoof Academy” turned up to play their regular Saturday friendly match.
Despite some good bowling by the Greasley team Porchester were more consistent, bowled well and gained a narrow victory.
Club members would like to thank Maureen Cook and Irene Wagstaffe for providing the teas for yet another season.
The raffle money they collect is always a great contribution to club funds. Their efforts are much appreciated by club members and visitors alike.
The next home match is on Saturday, May 21.
