Priory Celtic Round-up
After the disappointment of losing their long unbeaten run last week, the U10 Greens bounced back in style by comprehensively seeing off Lowdham Colts 5-1 at a very blustery Kimberley Leisure Centre.
The greens started slowly and just shaded the first-half, going into the break 1-0 up, however they went through the gears in the second-half to claim three points.
The goals came from Matthew Dickinson, Mitchell Purdy, Alfie Hawksworth and two from Bobby Watson, while Samuel Binks won the man of the match award.
The U11 Greens tasted defeat for the first time this phase, losing by the odd goal in three to Stapleford Villa.
A goal after only ten seconds saw Villa strike firstand a Connor Jones goal wasn’t enough to rescue a point.
Taking the opportunity of a break in the fixtures the U11 Whites entertained Hucknall Sports in a friendly game; Liam Garner hit four, with Ed Flynn and Jack Shaw scoring the other goals.
In U8 action, the Whites played Long Eaton United with Irmani Nelmes and Ben Langmaid claiming the joint man of the match awards.
Callum Fox won the Greens’ award after their game at Southwell whilst Thomas Charles won the Hoops’ award from their game at Sherwood
On Sunday, the senior team put in one of their best performances of the season by beating Queens City 7-2, and the U13 Greens were once again involved in a high scoring game, losing 8-4 at home to Ravenshead Reds.
The U11 Hoops lost 3-1 at Bulwell Rangers despite taking the lead, Thomas Oates scoring the goal with Thomas Hutton winning the man of the match award.
In U7 action Oscar Trigg won the man of the match award for the Greens.
Priory’s new soccer school for boys and girls of all ability continues each Wednesday at the Leisure Centre between 6-7pm on the new 3G pitches.
