Kimberley too good for Bridgford in the cup

A round-up of the action involving our local teams in the Nottinghamshire Senior League.

The Nottinghamshire Senior League returned to action after two weeks of fixture cancellations and the Senior Cup provided lots of goal action.

Kimberley Miners Welfare beat West Bridgford 4-0 with two goals from Fisher and one each from Wilmot and Greenaugh.

An all Senior Division tie saw Selston and Sandhurst draw 2-2 after extra time, Selston eventually winning 5-4 on penalties.

Luke Whiting and Richard Barnes scored for Selston and two from Cliff Clark for Sandhurst.

In the Senior Division Awsworth Villa lost 2-1 at home to Hucknall Rolls Leisure, Keiran Saxton on target for Awsworth and two from Ashley Marshall for Hucknall.

Underwood Villa and Radcliffe Olympic Reserves shared eight goals in a 4-4 draw in Division One.

A Nick Thorpe hat-trick and one from Chris Towlson were matched by two from Matt Gamble and one each from Scott Bell and Lee Blackmoor for Radcliffe.

In Division Two, Kirton Brickworks moved top with a 2-1 away win at Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves, Asher Pythian for Kimberley. Adam Boddy and Jamie Charlton for Kirton.

Nuthall side United FC lost 1-0 at home to Selston Reserves, both teams now on 16 points towards the wrong end of the league.
