Mixed fortunes for Villa over Easter with a win and a defeat

With Selston out of action once again attention turned to Awsworth Villa in the Premier Division and they eased their relegation fears with a 3-2 win at Sandhurst on Saturday.

However, that result was then followed by a 3-2 reverse at new leaders Wollaton on Tuesday night to leave Villa, who were 2-0 up at half-time, still looking over their shoulders given teams behind them have games in hand.

In Division One, Underwood Villa remain title favourites as a 3-0 win at Nottinghamshire kept them four points behind leaders Newark Flowserve with three games in hand, Flowserve themselves in fine form to beat Awsworth Villa Reserves 6-0 to leave Villa rock bottom.

Kimberley MW Reserves took a break from league action on Saturday but on Tuesday night they progressed to he final of the Junior Cup with a 1-0 win over Keyworth United Reserves.

With Keyworth having been reduced to ten men during the first-half, they were finally broken down in the 81st minute when Jack Tucker netted the winning goal, shortly before another Keyworth red card reduced them to nine men.

Kimberley will now face Linby CW Reserves in the final.

Two 2-0 wins for Kimberley MW AFC mean they’re still favourites to win Division Two. Daniel Walsh and Ben Greenhalgh helped them beat Bilborough on Saturday and then they beat Newark Town 2-0 on Monday.
