In a close-fought contest with visiting team Notts Constabulary Nuthall Northern Bowls managed to win by four shots.

A break for tea saw the visitors making a comeback and nearly succeeding, as it was all on the last end with all three rinks winning.

The rink skipped by Michael Watson won by ten shots to tip the balance and NNBC won 4-2.

On Monday evening the club was in action at Forest Town Mansfield where opponents Queensbury ‘B’ in the Ashfield and District league were no match for the in-form pairs of Phil and Kevin Broadley (43-8) and Brian Watson and Ken Hopwood (27-5).

Mark and Geoff Lillycrap came from behind to draw (14-14) but Andrew Corban and Bill Cardwell lost (18-13).

NNBC won 11-3 so remain at the top of the league, with their next home match on Monday (13th) at Basil Russell Playing Fields.
