Priory Celtic Round-up
The U14 Whites became the second Priory team to be crowned champions in the Autumn phase of the Young Elizabethan League.
With two games remaining Darren Syson’s team thrashed Toton Tigers 11-3, Robbie Horsely, Kyle Howden and Kade McLean all scoring a brace with the remaining goals shared out amongst most of the team,
The U14 Girls won well at West Bridgford, Caitlin Dickinson with the only goal and the hosts missing a penalty, whilst the U17s claimed a 3-3 draw with Gedling and the U18s crashed out of the League Cup at Teversal.
The U12 Whites drew 4-4 in a thriller with Collingham, whilst the U12 Greens lost 6-0 in the YEL Trophy at Bingham.
Isaac Morledge scored the U11 Greens’ only goal in a 5-1 loss at Aslockton.
In mini-soccer action, keeper Charlie Walker won the man of the match award for the U8 Saturday after their good performance at Toton Tornados whilst Brandon Ridings and Ross Carlin won the joint awards for the U10s.
On Sunday, Niall Storer scored both a hat-trick and claimed man of the match in the U12 Hoops’ 5-0 win at home to Gedling Town, whilst the U14 Greens put in a morale-boosting 4-1 away win at Blidworth FC, Owen Bassnet with two goals along with solo strikes from Alex Bentley and Joe Naylor
The U13s lost at home to champions elect Bagthorpe Athletic.
In mini soccer action Priory Greens U7s travelled to Sherwood Greenwith parent’s player of the game going to Daniel Bailey and the manager’s vote to Stanley Hurrell.
Both of Priory’s senior teams claimed great victories.
The Senior team beat Nottingham United B 3-2 in the EMPAL league and in a friendly local derby game the Veterans entertained Eastwood CFC, claiming the bragging rights in a 6-0 victory
Moorgreen Colts Round-up
The U14s won a thriller 6-4 at Gotham Rangers despite only having ten men for much of the game, whilst the U13s won 4-2 against Greenwood, Joe Reeve, Sam Humphries (2) and Tom Limb scoring.
The U12 Blues eased to a 6-2 win over Underwood Villa, Connor Wilson with a hat-trick, Kye Palmer two and Thomas Fletcher also on target, man of the match being keeper Ethan Wing.
The U10 Blues faced Bulwell but goals from Ben Stapleford, Jake Dale and player-of-the-match Noah Hemsley (2) weren’t enough.
The U8 Blues had Charlie Pickworth on target against Attenborough and Sam Poxon man of the match, whilst the U7 Blues played Edwalton Cavaliers with Liam White and Alfie Kirk scoring and goalkeeper Ryan Morris man-of-the-match.
