Kimberley Swimming Club members were in action in round one of the JC Dobbs gala at Suttion Leisure Centre on Saturday night.
The event saw Kimberley come up against teams from Radford, Sutton, Portland, Hucknall and Ilkeston.
On the night Kimberley came second to Radford overall, after receiving five speeding tickets.
There was a fine performance from Matthew Shipley who swam the 50m freestyle in under 30 seconds, making himself eligible for a special club award, and he added two first places on the night as well.
There were also good displays from nine-year-olds Will Moore, Alex Cooke, Jessica Shephard, Lauren Shipley and Chloe Cheetham who won all their relay events.
In addition, Jade Duffy, Gemma Calder, Daniel Knowles, Robert Smith, Elise Yorston, Jessica Shephard and Lauren Gill all earned individual first places to round off an excellent evening’s work.
The final result was:
1 Radford - 190 pts (no speeding tickets); 2 Kimberley - 182 (five speeding tickets); 3 Sutton - 179 (three speeding tickets); 4 Portland - 130 (one speeding ticket); 5 Hucknall - 129 (two speeding tickets); 6 Ilkeston - 121 (one speeding ticket)
