Swimmers pipped to the post by Sherwood

Last Saturday saw Kimberley Swimming Club members competing in round three of the Sports Centre League at the Mansfield Water Meadows pool.

On the night it was close all the way to the end between Sherwood and Kimberley, with Kimberley coming second by only one point.

The final scores were Sherwood 215, Kimberley 214, Portland 183, Worksop 140, Mansfield 129, Hucknall & Linby - no swim.

Personal bests were achieved by Jade Calder, Cameron Thorpe (2), Bradley Francis (2), Jimi Knowles (2), Molly Forrester, Megan Hanson, Josh Shipman, Matthew Fearn and Daniel Knowles.

First places went to Jade Calder (2), Ben Barsby (2), Bradley Francis (2), Katie Walker, Charly Nielson (2), Gemma Calder (2), Megan Hanson, Jimmi Knowles, Chloe Bis, the 9/U mixed 4 x 25m medley and free relay teams, 11/13 girls 4 x 25m medley team, 15 & Open males and females 4 x 25m medley relay team and the mixed all ages 20 x 25m free team.

Gemma Calder and Ben Barsby swam after competing at the Regional Championships at Corby during the afternoon while Tyler Meads, Katie Horner and Molly Forrester had been competing at an Open Meet all day.
