Two sign up as Stags go on a recruitment drive

With no game last weekend, Kimberley Town decided to hold an open house for local players who had been in touch with a view to joining the club.

From a good response, 18 people turned up for training and a number showed their interest in joining the Centeral Midland league outfit.

Club chairman Graeme Critchley said: “We appreciate that some may find the step too much of a jump from youth football to adult, so to continue with their development games are being arranged, possibly in midweek both home and away, against other development clubs.

“We do however need more youngsters aged 16-18 to add to the squad to make it workable, so if anyone is in the age group and available midweek and weekends we would like to hear from them.”
