Come and try out for Falconettes

THE call has gone out for Derbyshire girls to join the Falconettes squad.

The Falconettes are the official T20 dancers for Derbyshire County Cricket Club and dance on the pitch at every home Twenty20 match.

They are now looking for new members for the 2012 squad and will be holding auditions to find the best dancers that Derbyshire has to offer.

Falconettes need to be local girls who represent Derbyshire and organisers feel there is a lot of talent in the county, although not many opportunities for dancers to find work in the area.

Often dancers will have to travel outside the county to cities like London and Birmingham which is why the squad is so excited to be able to offer this opportunity to local girls.

Auditions are being held on Saturday May 12 at The County Ground, Derby.

A spokesperson for the Falconettes squad said: “We currently have a number of applicants from all over the country but in an ideal world we would like to have local girls dancing for their local cricket club. We think it would create a great community spirit for fans to know that all our dancers are from the area.”
