Summer night films at Elvaston

Women In Love returns to Elvaston Castle for the first of Quad’s Summer Nights outdoor film screenings on May 4-5.

The first of the Summer Nights Outdoor Film Festival screenings, will take place at the actual location in which the film was shot.

Women In Love, directed by the late Ken Russell, screens at Elvaston Castle on Friday, May 4. Made in 1969, Women in Love stars Derbyshire’s own Alan Bates, Oliver Reed, Glenda Jackson and Jennie Linden. The film is adapted from the classic novel by D. H. Lawrence and is a powerful and passionate study of love, commitment and relationships.

The following night, Elvaston Castle will also host a screening of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. Based on the classic novel by John Le Carré, this tense and intriguing spy thriller stars Gary Oldman as George Smiley, brought back into the fold to find a mole in the upper echelons.
