RISING local band Dreaded Monkey have been putting the finishing touches to their new EP.

Titled The Wake Up EP, it is the follow-up to 2010’s The Weight Is Uncertain and will feature four new recordings plus rare live performances of fan favourites.

Tracks included on the EP are Wake Up, This is not a song, Where We Belong, The Family, plus Tarred and feathered (live on BRMB radio), Julie (live at Stealth in Nottingham) and Come Together (a cover of the Beatles classic, live on Hilltop radio).

The four-piece outfit features members from Eastwood, Ilkeston, Heanor and Arnold, and Tom from the band explained: “It’s been a while since we put any new tracks out there.

“We have tried and tested many new tracks live and the four on the EP are the favourites.”

The new EP will be available as a free download from the band’s myspace and Facebook pages in the coming weeks.
