Derby-based professional orchestra Sinfonia Viva will be making their latest appearance at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hal l on Tuesday, February 5, starting at 7.30pm.
Fresh from their New Year’s Eve extravaganza at the same venue, they will be conducted this time by Garry Walker.
The programme features performances of Haydn’s Symphony No 70, the Concerto for Violin and Cello by Johannes Brahms, and Beethoven’s evergreen and hugely popular Fifth Symphony, with one of the most famous openings in all of classical music and its clear journey from the darkness of the first movement into the light of the finale.
The soloists in the Brahms concerto will be Thomas Gould on violin and the cellist Guy Johnston, who performed in Nottingham last year, playing the Dvorak Cello Concerto at the Albert Hall.
Tickets to see this concert by Sinfonia Viva are £10-£32.
They are available by calling the box office at the Royal Centre on 0115 9895555.
