Cello soloist Julian Lloyd Webber is to be the guest performer in the latest concert from Nottingham Youth Orcheatra.
The concert is to be held at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall on 0n Saturday, March 2, starting at 7.30m.
As befits the involvement of such a legendary figure from the world of British classical music, it will be a Best Of British Prom Concert.
The programme is to feature Julian Lloyd Webber as soloist in Elgar’s Cello Concerto, a work he has played many times, to great acclaim over the years.
Also to be performed by the talented young members of the orchestra are the likes of Vaughan Williams’s Fantasia On Greensleeves, the ballet music from Holst’s work The Perfect Fool, Walton’s march Crown Imperial, written for the 1937 Coronation of King George VI, and the Knightsbridge March, one of the most popular works by Nottinghamshire-born composer Eric Coates.
