FANS of the classic hits of the 1960s are in for a treat at Derby’s Assembly Rooms on Sunday, October 16, when the Sensational 60s Experience returns to the Assembly Rooms in Derby.
This brand new production for 2011 makes this a must see show for fans of the music of this particular era.
For one night only, all the original hits will be performed by four of the most popular bands of the 60s in a show starring The Tremeloes, Hermans Hermits, The Union Gap UK and The Dreamers. The evening is to be hosted by Alan Mosca from Freddie And The Dreamers.
This quintessential 60s line-up is packed with nostalgia and hits such as Silence is Golden, Twist and Shout, No Milk Today, I’m Henry The 8th, Silhouettes, Mrs Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter, Young Girl, Lady Willpower, Woman Woman, Over You, I’m Telling You Now, You Were Made For Me, I Love You Baby and I Understand, to name but a few.
Probably the most popular 60s band still touring all over the world today, The Tremeloes were the first British 60s band to have hits in South America. In 1961, Decca records auditioned two bands, where one would receive a three-year contract. These bands were The Tremeloes and The Beatles and, after the auditions, The Tremeloes emerged with a three-year contract.
Throughout the mid-60s music scene, Herman’s Hermits proved to be a dominating force worldwide. From 1964, the band chalked up over 23 top 20 singles, ten hit albums and three major movies.
The Union Gap gained worldwide recognition when their first combined release Young Girl hit the number one spot in the UK and number two in the USA. Sit back, relax and enjoy the fantastic harmonies of The Union Gap UK.
After splitting with Freddie Garrity in 1986, The Dreamers went on to build their own reputation and have established themselves as one of the most-seen 60s shows on the circuit today.
Tickets to see the show cost £21.50 (concessions £19.50) and are available by calling the box office on 01332 255800.
