The Leeds City Stompers play The Queens Head in Belper on Saturday, December 6.
A chance meeting while busking on Bourbon Street, New Orleans, led to the formation of an extraordinary musical partnership.
Now back in their native Leeds, the Stompers play a dynamic interpretation of American music.
Influenced by the blues of Blind Blake and Robert Johnson, the duo are equally at home with the country sound of Hank Williams and goodtime jazz.
Favourites on the club and festival circuit, their musical fusion is delivered on guitar and double bass with a driving rockabilly edge.
Expect an evening of accomplished playing with high energy and the sense of fun inherent in their diverse influences.
Admission at the Chesterfield Road-based venue is £6. Doors open at 8.15pm.
n Don’t forget the production of Treasure Island whiich is being performed by Kaleidoscope Players at Derby’s Guildhall Theatre from December 5-7. This will be a spectacular feast of family fun featuring traditional pantoime frolics.
