THE Derbyshire-based Present Company will be performing their production of The Sound Of Music at Derby Theatre from Thursday, March 29, to Saturday, March 31.
This true story of how Maria’s love of singing first wins over the Baron’s children, and then their father, makes The Sound of Music an enjoyable show for all the family.
One of the most popular musicals of all time, it features superb Rodgers and Hammerstein songs such as Climb Ev’ry Mountain, My Favourite Things, Do-Re-Mi, The Sound of Music, Edelweiss, Something Good, Lonely Goatherd, Sixteen Going on Seventeen, Maria and many more.
Award-winning Present Company has gathered together an impressive cast of over 30 to present this jewel of musical theatre, fresh from performing it at Buxton Opera House.
Laura Orton, takes the part of Maria Von Trapp, made famous by Mary Martin on Broadway and on the silver screen by Julie Andrews, while David Walters plays Baron Georg von Trapp.
Performances are nightly at 7.30pm with an additional Saturday matinee from 2.30pm.
