World premiere at Viva’s concert

THE world premiere of James Redwood’s specially commissioned work Peggy On A Scooter is to open Sinfonia Viva’s latest concert at Derby’s Assembly Rooms on Tuesday, January 24.

The work is last in the series of ten Orchestral Shorts commissioned by the orchestra over the past four years.

The concert is to be conducted by Andre De Ridder and will also feature performances of Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No 1, David Blake’s orchestration of the Janacek piano work On An Overgrown Path, and Mozart’s Symphony No 38 ‘Prague’.
