Opera fans can enjoy screenings of performances from Glyndebourne Festival at Quad in Derby over the summer months.
Next up is Jean-Phillippe Rameau’s opera Hippolyte et Aricie.
Sung in French with English subtitles, it was Rameau’s first work for the stage, written when he was nearly 50. It is also Glyndebourne’s first production of an opera by Rameau, and will strike audiences, as it did in Paris in 1733, with its richness of invention.
It can be seen from 6.15pm on Thursday, July 25. To book seats, call 01332 290606.
