ONE of the best-loved of all family musicals comes to Derby’s Assembly Rooms from April 4-9 in an acclaimed touring production.
Annie, by Charles Strouse, Martin Charnin and Thomas Meehan, was first heard in the 1970s and went on to receive the big-screen treatment in 1981.
From its Broadway beginnings to the classic film adaptation, this heartwarming rags-to-riches story of Annie’s adventures, from the New York orphanage to the luxurious home of Oliver Warbucks, is a tale that has been told all over the world for decades and will continue for many years to come.
Leading a cast of over 40 talented artistes will be Su Pollard as Miss Hannigan, the gin-soaked villain of the piece, with David McAllister as the kindly Oliver Warbucks.
The brilliantly memorable score includes It’s The Hard-Knock Life, Easy Street and, of course, Tomorrow.
Tickets are available from the box office on 01332 255800.
