CHILDREN’S TV star Dani Harmer heads the cast of a spectacular new Easter pantomime that can be seen at Derby’s Assembly Rooms on April 7 and 8.
The star of Tracy Beaker appears as Dorothy in The Wizard Of Oz, an all-new pantomime version of the classic tale.
Enchanted Entertainment, producers of many popular family theatre shows nationwide, will present this wonderful, heart-warming theatrical spectacular as part of a large-scale national tour.
Producer Guy Pascall said: “We’re really looking forward to coming to Derby during the Easter holidays with this fantastic show. It’s got a great cast of TV stars and an amazing live band.
“We know how popular our Christmas pantomimes are across the UK and we’re now hoping to give audiences another quality family event during the year”.
The cast features a host of top quality, professional performers. Joining Dani Harmer will be comedy legend Bobby Davro as Scarecrow, star of CBeebies’ Mighty-Mites and Tikkabilla Sarah-Jane Honeywell as Glinda and Aaron Sidwell (Steven Beale from EastEnders) as the Wicked Witch of the West’s henchman.
Director Rob Forknall said: “It’s going to be great fun for all the family both young and old alike. Everyone remembers such great characters as the The Cowardly Lion and The Tin Man who needs a heart etc.
“This show will take the original book written by L. Frank Baum and give it a new twist as only Enchanted Entertainment can!”
The Wizard of Oz tour will be a ‘no expenses spared’, spectacular family production, bringing together a
top cast, costumes, fantastic dance routines and plenty of popular songs to please all ages.
