Youngsters and staff at Cherubs Wynndale in Mansfield showed their support for World Down Syndrome Day by wearing odd socks.

Charlotte Gallagher, assistant nursery manager at the Wynndale Drive nursery, said the children also decorated their own ribbons for the cause.

“They all had child-friendly discussions about this to give the children a better understanding,” she said.

World Down Syndrome Day is held on March 21 because it represents the triplication, or trisomy, of the 21st chromosome – which causes Down Syndrome.
