Salon in Mansfield spreads Christmas cheer for King's Mill Hospital patients

A community-conscious hair and beauty salon in Mansfield is making sure the spirit of Christmas is spread to those in hospital.

Wood’s Of Westgate has organised a collection of Christmas selection boxes for young and elderly patients at King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton.

And already, dozens have been donated by generous customers of the popular salon.

Alanya Jennings, manager of the salon on West Gate, Mansfield town centre, said: “Thanks to all our kind clients who have donated.

“We have about 60 boxes at the moment, but would like to reach 100.

“There is still time to donate before the salon owner, Hayley Wood, and I take them to the hospital on December 12. The boxes will go to the children’s services and elderly care wards.”

The gesture follows a similar initiative last Easter when the salon collected and handed over 134 Easter eggs for young and elderly patients in King’s Mill over the holiday.

In return, hospital staff presented the salon with a special certificate.
