NOTTINGHAM FOREST: Freedman hails change in attitude

Forest chief Dougie Freedman has lauded his players after they acheived back-to-back wins in the Championship.

Freedman’s troops recorded victories at QPR and Birmingham City and the manager says his players have changed their approach in recent weeks.

Forest host high-flying Middlesbrough on Saturday (12.30pm).

Freedman said: “This football club has been through a lot and there are a lot of people who have something to say about that.

“But now is the time to take stock a little bit.

“Let us do what we have got to do, if we worry about our own house, we are a better side – and that is what we have done.

“Players are putting their effort into the team now.

“I have no problem in saying that, when I first came here, there were too many people here who were not here because they wanted to play for the club.

“There were other reasons why they were here – but we are slowly moving the club away from that.

Freedman also praised the performance at St Andrew’s where his side won 1-0 thanks to Dexter Blackstock’s strike.

He added: “I am sure people were questioning things before the game, but I have the opportunity to work with these players every day.

“I have the mindset that you need a squad in this division.

“I know now that I can turn around and see a bench behind me that can help me to win a game or hold on to a game.”
