Youngsters at Cherubs Edwinstowe, Mansfield Road, have celebrated the Chinese New Year and Burns night, as well as taking a trip to nearby Sherwood Forest.
Sarah Hickling, nursery manager, said: “We have enjoyed learning about the Chinese New Year and how it is the year of the rat.

The children also marked the Scottish celebration of Burns night by tucking into the nursery’s version of the traditional Burns night meal of haggis, turnips and potatoes – known as haggis, neeps and tatties – by tucking into haggis with potato and turnip mash.
Miss Hickling said: “We’re just developing their cultural knowledge and respect of other cultures.”
She said the children also “enjoyed a treasure hunt at Sherwood Forest and as part of our forest sessions enjoyed climbing in the trees”.
