A further five patients with coronavirus have died in Nottinghamshire as UK death toll passes 20,000

There have now been a total of 82 recorded deaths at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust – which runs King’s Mill Hospital in Sutton, Mansfield Community Hospital and Newark Hospital – according to figures released by NHS England this afternoon.

NHS England reports 711 further covid-19 hospital deaths recorded in the country since yesterday taking the total number of deaths to 18,084.

Patients were aged between 34 and 100 years old. 87 of the 711 patients (aged between 34 and 90 years old) had no known underlying health condition.

Home Secretary Priti Patel has announced that across the UK Of those in hospital, 20,319 have died, an increase of 813 fatalities since yesterday.

However, the true number of deaths is thought to be much higher due to the number of people dying in care homes and hospices, that are not included in the figures.
