This is how many Mansfield and Ashfield people have died from the virus, according to new figures

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs King’s Mill Hospital, in Sutton, has said that further 18 people in their care have died after being diagnosed with the virus, bringing the number of local deaths to 45 since the pandemic began.
The number of confirmed cases has also risen dramatically, up to 469 in the area.

Hide AdAccording to the latest figures, at 2.45pm today (Wednesday, April 8), there have been 55,242 confirmed cases in the UK with 6,159 deaths.
Of those being treated, 1,559 are termed as serious or critical, and a total of 266,694 have currently been tested – equating to 3,929 per million people in the country.
Around the world there are now 1,450,086 confirmed cases, with a total of 83,466 deaths.
The NHS trust has not yet issued a statement on the most recent deaths, or the specifics of those who have lost their lives.

Hide AdThe Department for Health said delays in the length of time to confirm publicly a death of somebody testing positive for Covid-19 can occur for reasons such as an individual being tested post-mortem or difficulties in tracing and informing family members.
All figures provided are given for at least one day previous.
Speaking previously, trust chief executive Richard Mitchell said: “Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patient’s family and loved ones at this difficult time."
