A spokesman for King’s Mill Hospital said Monday night’s night’s Emergency Department shift was ‘trouble free with “no abusive behaviour towards colleagues.”It was the second time that England had played and there had been no abuse or violence recorded in the department.
Bad behaviour after previous England games had led some staff ‘dreading’ match shifts, prompting Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust to send out a plea asking people to ‘treat the staff with respect.’Chief Operating Officer for Sherwood Forest Hospitals Simon Barton said: “Our reminder to patients to treat us with respect seems to have really helped, as we saw a much calmer ED last night, which was really pleasing to see.

We know it wasn’t the football result that anyone wanted, and we were as disappointed as anyone, but no yellow cards were issued in our ED and that was very pleasing for us to see, we hope this continues.”
Across the country brawls and racist abuse broke out in some areas following the disappointing result for England.Racist abuse was also aimed at the players and England’s which manager Gareth Southgate described as “unforgivable”.
In a widely publicied press conference (today) Monday he said “It’s just not what we stand for.”
