Hide AdSam, whose mum recently passed away after suffering Alzheimer’s, said: ““I previously took part in the Edinburgh Marathon back in 2011 to raise money for the same charity, but this is the first time I have ever walked 100k
It was Caroline’s idea initially for us to take part in the event, but I have been genuinely overwhelmed at the support we have received.
“My daughter also helped us to raise sponsorship through holding a cake sale at her school.
“People have been so generous, it has been heartwarming.”
Caroline Holland joined HMS Sherwood in 2010, as she wanted to make the most of her spare time by challenging herself to learn new skills and meet new people.
