Evidence of modern day slavery found inside Kirkby home turned into cannabis farm

Officers from Sutton Safer Neighbourhood Team executed a drugs warrant at a mid terraced property in Kirkby yesterday, Thursday, February 18, and seized more than 150 cannabis plants.
An investigation has been opened by police who said it was ‘dangerous and worrying not only for us but for the residents who live in the houses that join onto this’ that electricity at the address was bypassed.

Hide AdThe electrical faults posed a ‘significant’ fire risk to residents living in the house according to officers, who also confirmed there was evidence suggesting that modern day slavery was apparent at the address.
